Frequently Asked Question

Message exceeded the maximum outbound/inbound message size

The maximum mail size is 15MB.

Any emails larger than this size, regardless of being sent to or from your account, will be rejected.

All emails coming into and out of our mail server are scanned for viruses, the bigger the attachment the longer it takes to scan.  If the size were increased it would eventually create a bottleneck (backlog) in virus scanning and emails would be heavily delayed reaching their destination. This size restriction is in place for all mail accounts (including our own) with no exceptions.

There are a few things you can do to get around the size limitation.

If you're sending multiple attachments then try dividing them across multiple emails. e.g. if sending 4 x 5MB images, send two emails each containing two of those images.

If you're attempting to send a single attachment larger than 15MB we would recommend you use a free online file sharing service such as WeTransfer. WeTransfer allows you to upload your attachment, type in an email address and they'll send the recipient a link to download your attachment from their website.
