Frequently Asked Question

Maximum Recipents Per Email and/or Emails Sent Per Hour
Last Updated a year ago

For security reasons and to prevent abuse, all our mail accounts are restricted to a maximum of 10 recipients per email and 130 emails per domain per hour.

If you try to send an email to containing more than 10 recipients or attempt to exceed 130 per hour per domain, the email(s) will be refused by our mail servers (and we will be alerted of your activity).

It's not often that a client wishes to send an email to more than 10 recipients/130 emails per hour at one time and generally in these cases the client is attempting to send a Newsletter or Promotional Email.

Our mail services are not intended for bulk/mass promotional use.  The greater the amount of similar emails being sent from our servers increases the risk of our servers being blacklisted as Spam servers.  Once a server is blacklisted it takes considerable effort to be removed from these lists during which the service provided to all our clients is impacted e.g. Order Notifications/Confirmations not being accepted, Invoices not being sent/received etc.

Also in the event of a client's device being infected with a virus/malware program that takes over the configured mail account to Spam, it limits the amount of damage that can happen unbeknown to the client at the time.

It is for these reasons that we place this restriction on our mail servers and there no exceptions to this restriction.

If you wish to send bulk/promotional emails please use a dedicated Bulk Mail Service such as Mail-Chimp.
